My wife, Tery Rivero de Jackson, and We have been married for 40 years. Tery is from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. My first trip there was in 1969 to meet the family. In those days it was extremely expensive so the trip was made only every five or six years. These days it is relatively cheap to travel, and we make a lot more money than we used to make in the old days.  Thus, we travel there three or more times per year.

I met my Tery in college in California in 1965. We married in 1966, have two grown children with six grandchildren, with whom we are extremely proud and happy.

We have been in the real estate business in California for only the last six years. Business has been great in California. We decided to start something in Bolivia to help Bolivia, make some money, and have an other reason to go to Bolivia more often.  Our spacious house in Santa Cruz also has a very large office space for the real estate business.

I was in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 until 1972, graduated from the University of Texas in 1970, owned a company that manufactured and distributed clothing for bicycle riders nationwide from 1972 until 1990. In 1985 we started our travel agency that specializes in travel to Bolivia with Bolivians from all over the USA. In 1998, we started the real estate brokerage in southern California.

Since the airlines no longer pay a commission to travel agents, 95% of our current income is derived from commissions on the sale of real estate. We are extremely committed to real estate.

We have seen Bolivia grow (sometimes slowly), advance (sometimes painfully), and change (usually for the best). For example, in 1969 Santa Cruz had only three hundred thousand people, very few telephones and no television. Today, Santa Cruz has more than three million people, telephones and cell phones everywhere, several TV stations, cable TV, satellite connections, and the internet has taken over the city. Located in the heart of South America, Santa Cruz has become the defacto capital of Bolivia and a trade Mecca for all of South America.

With the advances in telephones and the internet we are able to be virtually in both California and Bolivia at the same time. Jackson Rivero Realty has qualified employees in both locations who follow our directions to the nth degree.

Tery and I, each, have been in business for the past 52 years (since we were seven years old). We have build each business upon honesty and high quality of service to our clients. This makes life easy and a lot of fun. There is no need to keep looking over our respective shoulders. All of our customers are well satisfied with the quality of service that we have provided them throughout these many years of being in business.

California real estate laws and customs are the strictest set of rules for conducting real estate business in the entire world. We use this standard of conduct in our work in Bolivia, we do what we say we are going to do and respect our clients.
